Din cele 18 filme premiate în ianuarie 2017 în cadrul festivalului, au fost selectate pentru proiecție 10 cele mai bune producții. Printre ele se regăsește scurt metrajul romanesc O noapte in Tokoriki, care a fost premiat la festivalul de film de la Berlin in anul 2016, la sectiunea Generation 14Plus International Jury Special Prize.
Luna Iulie a anului 2017 marchează un număr record de locații în care se va desfasura evenimentul SHORT FILM FACTORY. Cele 30 de orașe care vor găzdui proiecții sunt: Alba Iulia, Alexandria, Arad, Bacău, Baia Mare, Botoșani, București, Buzău, Câmpulung Moldovenesc, Câmpulung Muscel, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Deva, Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Hunedoara, Iași, Odorheiu Secuiesc, Oradea, Râmnicu Vâlcea, Piatra Neamț, Sibiu, Sighetu Marmației, Suceava, Târgoviste, Târgu Jiu, Târgu Mureș, Timișoara, Tulcea, Vama Veche. SHORT FILM FACTORY este un eveniment lunar dedicat cinefililor și celor care savurează ocazional cinema-ul. Proiecțiile de scurtmetraj sunt organizate de Short to the Point (International Short Film Festival) - o reţea internatională de distribuţie, difuzare şi promovare a filmelor de scurtmetraj. În ultimii ani SHORT FILM FACTORY a reușit să creeze o punte de legătură intre filmmakeri, cinefili si spectatorii ocazionali. Lansat în anul 2009 sub forma unei caravane cinematografice în 28 de orase din Romania, STTP a devenit un festival lunar la care se inscriu filme din toate colturile lumii. Festivalul Short to the Point ofera lunar 13 categorii de premii celor mai bune scurt metraje inscrise, urmand ca acestea sa fie proiectate in cadrul evenimentului national Short Film Factory by Short to the Point. PURE MADNESS BEST EXPERIMENTAL SHORT FILM @ STTP JANUARY 2017 AWARDS Director: Lander Haverals Country: Belgium Duration: 08:02 Sinopsis: In 2007 Jelle Haverals chose to take his own life. He did this after a long and intense battle against all his fears and demons. A few months before his suicide he wrote a play about his own mental suffering and about his life. This short film is based on this script. TROPHIES SPECIAL JURY AWARD @ STTP JANUARY 2017 AWARDS Director: Sophia Bösch Country: Sweden Duration: 12:00 Sinopsis: Two young women are sitting by a fire in the woods. They drink and discuss the future. The following morning, one of them is gone. We follow Katja as she wanders the woods in search of her friend, when she reaches a road and potential help. EXODUS SPECIAL JURY AWARD @ STTP JANUARY 2017 AWARDS Director: Acci Baba Country: Germany Duration: 02:25 Sinopsis: An experimental film to explore behaviors of an artificial system reaching the point of saturation. Central to the work is the aesthetic combination of geometry and life, expressed by collinear structure and living ants. The sugar water falls from the sky, artificially creating ecosystem for ants to survive. Ants walk along the infinite path, leaving pheromones for the others to follow. Soon one of the ant chose to escape from the saturated system, realizing they have been walking on a infinite path. The others followed and continued walking in to the void as they form an another circular loop. Through the perspective of micro organism, the artwork finds the relation between the viewers to reflect the formula emerging from the hyper reality. THE END OF EVERYTHING AS YOU KNEW IT. A GUIDE.
